Factors To Consider While Packaging Your Product

by Courtney April 26, 2020
written by Courtney

A lot of new businesses make the major mistake of putting all their time into the product itself and ignoring the packaging of the product. In real life, the proper packaging techniques can play a major role in getting your product discovered and on the shelves of retailers, until it finally ends up in a customer’s home. It is always advisable to spend your money and time in coming up with proper packaging that attracts customers’ attention. A good salesperson knows that you also need to consider the environment, transportation, and storage for a product to catch the eye of a retail buyer. For excellent custom packaging solutions, you can check out deepking. Let’s discuss the factors to consider while packaging your product.

Problems associated with e-commerce packaging

  • Wastefulness

All e-commerce packagers wish to minimize the impact of wastefulness by utilizing minimal packaging materials and reusable packaging.

  • Return optimization

The ROI in a small e-commerce environment is a challenge compared to regular brick and retail mortar providers.

  • Maintaining shelf presence

Packaging providers need to be able to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to branding and graphics. The unboxing experience needs to be unforgettable for a client to want to repurchase the product.

Many companies are already adopting recyclable packaging, as compared to the take-and-dispose style of packaging. For a little extra cash, customers now have the option of returning an empty packaging container and receiving a new one with the product inside.

Factors to consider when packaging your product

  • The company needs to spend its money and time in getting the packaging right. The final product should be capable of catching the attention of a customer through the intelligent use of color and design.
  • Packaging designs should be lightweight and the right shape. This ensures that the customer will have an easy time moving the product about without it occupying too much space on the customer’s shelf.
  • Companies should compactly package their products, to maximize appeal while also lessening the transport costs and storage requirements. The company can hire a professional packaging company such as deepking to handle professional design and packaging based on your budget.
  • Your choice of packaging material also plays a critical role in boosting your chances of success with discerning customers. The durability, environment of use, cost, and functionality of a packaging material need to be taken into account before you use the material on your product.
  • As a packager, you should also take shelf-life into account. Compared to plastic, glass is capable of lasting two years or more. Plastic can only go for six months. This means that whatever you place inside plastic bottles should not be required to remain fresh for longer than six months. One disadvantage is that glass, although more secure than plastic, is also more expensive as a packaging material.

Conclusion

The choice of packaging material is very important in enhancing the success of your product line. Consider the cost, intended environment, and transportation factors when picking packaging material for your product.

X things you should know about a locket necklace

by Courtney April 10, 2020
written by Courtney

For many years, locket necklaces have been worn in many forms mostly as sentimental pieces of jewelry. They fell out of the scene and were replaced by light decadent necklaces but are now back with a bang. They are more personalized jewelry that can be customized to fit your preferable design. Due to that, they make excellent gifts for family members, friends, and close acquaintances. For a broader insight, here are a few things to know about locket necklaces.

Made from Different Materials

During ancient times, most lockets were made from Brass, Silver, and Gold with a few whimsical designs. Today, they comprise of materials such as Gold, Rose, Glass, Silver, Diamonds, and Gemstones. Modern locket necklaces are usually engraved with beautiful designs particularly if you are the type who enjoys a unique sense of style. You still have the choice to go for any that including a vintage locket necklace which you can customize to your liking.

Carry Different Meanings

Since time immemorial, locket necklaces have had a significant meaning, especially to the wearer. They have been worn to mark various significant occasions, whether it’s showing love to loved ones, showing loyalty towards public figures, remembering the deceased or honoring friends. Some were designed to hide items out of privacy, for instance, important notes from kings. The significance of the locket necklace is hugely dependent on what you decide to place inside it and the meaning you seek to attach to it.

Available in Different Varieties

Locket necklaces come in different shapes and sizes, from small, medium to big depending on the design. Most of the time the size of the locket is determined by what you want to put inside it. For instance, the expanded locket is preferable for keeping more than one photo. One frame locket is preferable for one photo. Clear lockets are the more modernized lockets with whimsical features that only allow you to see the content that is inside. Aromatherapy lockets are those that let you place perfumes and oils inside it. As for prayer box lockets, they are more traditional, they let you place small notes, crystals, charms, and gemstones. With the available designs, you will not miss one that suits you and your interests.

Gives Out Strong Fashion Sense

Modernization has brought with it a variety of options, especially in fashion trends. As much as they hold great significance, lockets come with such beautiful designs that give off bold fashion statements. The best thing about a locket necklace is that you can put it on with any outfit and it will flow effortlessly. On the other hand, vintage embroidered lockets normally stand out with the traditional style now becoming the new norm. So, don’t be reluctant to try something unique and reanimate your sense of style through elegant locket necklaces.

Can be worn at Any Given Occasion

Locket necklaces are uniquely presentable and can be worn at any given occasion. You won’t have to worry about looking like a weirdo when you wear it with your official, dinner or casual outfits. More so, you can still pair it with other jewelry including rings, bracelets, and earnings to achieve a stunning look. On its own, it’s quite catchy jewelry that will capture people’s attention. Add extra charm and meaning to this magnificent piece of jewelry and people will be curious to know why you wear it.

Selecting The Best Bathtub Design In 2020

by Courtney March 17, 2020
written by Courtney

Bathtubs come in different shapes and sizes, depending on your needs and your bathroom size. The design of a bathtub is also determined by the material used in manufacturing the tub. Materials such as cast iron are highly inflexible. Therefore, cast iron doesn’t give unique designs of bathtubs in Sydney like acrylic, wood, or fiberglass. The following are some of the commonest bathtub designs available in the market today:

  • Walk-in bathtubs: This design comes with a watertight door that allows you to walk into the tub, close the door, take a bath, and then walk out after draining the water. Walk-in tubs can be configured to meet your taste, preference, and needs. The design is compact, which leaves you with a lot of space to work within the bathroom.

You will also enjoy greater water depth and flexibility when using. It can be accessed by individuals with disabilities, especially those who are wheelchair-bound. However, if you settle for this design, you’ll have to contend with a longer fill-up time. You will have to start filling the tub several minutes before the actual bath time.

  • Corner tubs: This five-sided tub fits nicely at the corner of the bathroom. The design usually comes in large sizes and can take up a lot of space in the bathroom. However, the big size translates to an enjoyable time in the tub, and it can accommodate two people.

Corner tubs can come with trendy and elegant finishes, which add to the beauty of your bathroom. However, for the best bathing experience, consider opening the tub several minutes before bathing time because the tub takes time to fill up. This tub design is not ideal for individuals with movement disabilities.

  • Alcove tubs: Ideal for three-walled spaces, alcove tubs usually come in small sizes, making them ideal for single-person use. When you want to bathe, you step over the edges and enter the tub. The simple design is easy to work with and affordable.
  • Free-standing tubs: Suitable for large enclosures, free-standing tubs don’t lean on any wall and are usually located at the center of the space. This design comes with an antiquity touch and a sophistication that accentuate the beauty of your bathroom. You also benefit from great freedom when using this tub. You can leave or enter the tub from any direction.

However, when you settle on this design, be ready to shell out a few extra dollars due to its uniqueness and beauty. Another downside to this design is the exposure of the plumbing. You’ll have to contend with exposed plumbing because the tub will stand freely away from the walls.

Take-Home

The design of a bathtub can readily turn your bathroom into a showroom where you can bathe and unwind. A bathtub can be a work of art with the right design, thereby adding to the aesthetical and financial value of your home. The choice of a bathtub to install in your bathroom is dependent on your space, budget, taste, and preference.

Is a Corner Spa Bath a Good Fit for You?

by Courtney January 19, 2020
written by Courtney

A corner spa bath is one of the most popular bathroom fixtures in the market. They do not only look unique but they are a great space-saving feature for those that have limited bathroom spaces. Before you get all excited and start shopping for the best corner spa bath, you have to make sure if you are ready to own one. Here are some things that you might want to consider first.

Faucet and handle locations

One of the first things that you should consider is the set-up. The position of your faucets, in particular, can have an impact on your access to the bathtub. For instance, if you want to be unique and want your faucet spouts and handles on the non-wall side of the tub, this will limit the space you use to get in and out of the bathtub. This could be an inconvenience especially if you are getting a unit that can sit two people or a larger one that can have three to four people in it. The best way is still to have them on the walled side.

Ease of cleaning

Since the bathtub is where you will be soaking in and cleaning up, it just makes sense to clean it regularly. Soaking in a dirty corner spa bath defeats the whole purpose of getting yourself cleaned up. Since corner spa baths are smaller in size, they may be deeper than regular bathtubs. Will you be able to lean over the tub and clean it with ease?

Who will be using it?

Is the bathtub only for the master’s bedroom or is it going to be used by the whole family? If it is exclusively for the master’s bedroom then you should invest in more spa-like features such as corner spa baths that doubles as a Jacuzzi or a hot tub. This way, you and your partner can relax and have some romantic time while you are at it. If the tub is for the whole family, you should consider having space for the bigger units.

What material do you want?

Bathtubs come in different materials, each one having its own share of pros and cons. For instance, cast iron is the most durable material you can get for bathtubs but it can also be very heavy and is not advisable for huge tubs. Plastic-like materials such as acrylic are lighter and cheaper but it is not as durable as you want them to be. You should also know that the type of material you choose can also limit the number of features you can have in your bathtub. This is important if you are looking for an upgrade or a bathtub that can give you a spa-like experience. Do your research and see which material is the best fit.

Now that you have gone through the points of consideration above, you may now have a clearer idea as to what you want in a corner spa bath. This will limit the options that you can choose from when you browse through the market because you already know what you want. And since you already have a clear idea as to what you need, you will surely end up with a bathtub that is perfect for you.

Tips to Creating a Good Product Label

by Courtney December 27, 2019
written by Courtney

Creating a product label is a huge responsibility. It is not just about creating something that is aesthetic or visually satisfying. There is also some depth involved as it involves how your consumers will react to it. Here is a list of tips that you should keep in mind when coming up with a product label. (more info from deepking label)

Research is important

Before you start sketching what you have in mind, it helps to do some research first. Write down who your target customers are and take note of their age, gender, education, income, values, and other traits that will affect their purchasing decisions. This information can lead you to the right design decisions. Aside from your target consumers, you should also research on your competitors. Find out what makes their design attractive and what makes their product click then decide how you can counteract it. This will help you avoid designing a label that is similar to your competition.

Consistency

Is the product from a known brand that already has its logo? You can simply adopt the brand’s logo and play with the brand’s colors in coming up with a label. This way, the new product’s presentation is consistent with the rest of the products under the same brand. If you are working on a standalone product that is entirely new, then you will need to make more research and put a lot of thought into the design to ensure that it stands out from other brands.

What is the packaging material?

The material used can affect the design that you come up with. Some materials affect the colors. Bright orange in your original design may come out as a lighter shade when it is printed out for packaging. Knowing what packaging your client wants to use will allow you to work on the logo in a way that it will not undergo any change once it is being used in the packaging.

Product Label

Hierarchy is important to the layout

Labels are there mainly to give out information. This information is vital to consumers as it can contain the grading, ingredients, nutrition table, handling, warning, and the expiration of the product. Other vital information includes barcode and price. Of course, you should also place the company logo, the slogan of the company or product, and the product name too. How to fit everything in your label will challenge your layouting skills.

Colors attract consumers

When it comes to making labels, colors is the key as it is one of the first things that attract consumers. Take the time to come up with a color scheme that is right for your product. For instance, cleaning products often use shades of blue, white, and green as they remind people of cleanliness. Food products often use shades of orange, yellow, and red as these colors elicit a hungry mood. Beauty products often use shades of pink, purple, and pastels as it calls out to one’s feminine needs.

Use the right typography

A product label has a lot of text involved so it is important that you take some time in choosing the right typography as well. Different fonts entail different space requirements. If you want your product to truly stand out, you can do a custom hand lettering for the label instead of going with a pre-existing font.

Remember, an excellent label design can add a great boost to your product’s success. The majority of consumers make their purchasing decisions depending on the looks of a product’s packaging and label.

Beginner Rookie Mistakes To Avoid When Choosing A Bathtub Shower

by Courtney November 5, 2019
written by Courtney

A simple internet search on a bathtub for sale will showcase thousands of beautiful bathtub designs. Unfortunately, if you are relatively new with no experience in choosing bathtub shower types, this spells doom as it’s easy to get swayed.

Nonetheless, as this is a crucial investment in any home and costs a lot, making a rookie mistake when choosing isn’t an option. Below are things you should avoid when selecting

beautiful bathtub
  • Don’t Choose A Bathtub Shower Based On Decoration

As human beings are visual creatures, it is a fact that the design of a standard bathtub is one of the main deciding factors on whether or not a tub is suitable. Unfortunately, there also exist many companies that manufacture low-quality bathtubs and churn them out in the market. To attract customers to them, they come in various unique designs and colors to entice you as the buyer. However, even though there is nothing wrong with choosing a beautiful bathtub, it’s essential to not select it as the core deciding factor.

  • Choose High-Quality Bathtub Shower

A high-quality bathtub is one that lasts you a whole lifetime. To help you choose the right bathtub, look at various things like the bathtub material. Ideally, the ceramic bathtub option will last long hence a great standard choice for many. Fortunately, glass bathtubs designs have improved over time and also withstand years of constant use with no worry. Nonetheless, try and steer clear of wood or metal bathtubs as they rot and rust and bring about various health hazards.

  • Countercheck The Control Panels Of Your Bathtub Shower

Of late, the bathtub shower combo is the most popular product purchased for many bathrooms. The popularity is due to its ease of use in traversing from a quick shower to get dirt and grit off to a relaxing faucet that allows you to soak in and rest. However, to entice people addition of extra features like jets, bubbles and massage options. As this is all exciting additions, it is vital to consider the control panel of such bathtubs and decide whether it’s worth the purchase.

  • Stick To Your Bathtub Shower Budget

Encapsulated, single, double, and freestanding bathtubs are some of the most common bathtub choices in the market today. Unfortunately, with several options in the market, it’s quite a hassle deciding on the type of bathtub. To play it safe, why not decide on a certain amount of money you are willing to invest in. Setting limits allows you to stop endless window shopping of ideas outside of your budget. A budget limit also safeguards you from spending too much money on designs and extra features that you don’t need.

bathtub
  • Choose Consider The Bathtub Shower Design

It is a fact that newer, better designs are in production every single day. Due to this, it sometimes can be challenging to decide what type of bathtub shower faucet you want to invest in. To circumvent this situation and not get swayed by a new shiny bathtub design, conduct in-depth research on various bathtub types available in your taste and preference. Afterward, select one on you like best and go through with the purchase.

Conclusion

Don’t be tempted to go for that new shiny bathtub for sale without taking into consideration your specific needs. As every bathroom is unique, it’s a given that you should consider a bathtub shower that suits it. Additionally, even though most showers look relatively the same, don’t settle for a generic colour and design and choose according to your taste and preference.

KIKO…

by Courtney September 17, 2014
written by Courtney

There was something that was missing in my life and that was a golden illuminator for my freshly tanned skin. Now that my skin is darker my existing highlighters just aren’t cutting it. (What a great excuse for new makeup!)Whilst shopping in Westfield last night I decided to pop into KIKO, the Italian brand of makeup that I had never tried. I like to play it quite safe and stick to my usual brands but the store was calling me. The price of the items shocked me a little, I thought it would have been more expensive which was a pleasant surprise. I got two eyeshadows (one which can be used as an illuminator/highlighter) and a fixing spray. The eyeshadows were £5.90 each and the spray was £7.90.

The pink toned one is a sparkle eyeshadow (Shade 403) which has a subtle rose gold sheen with glitter, the glitter is slightly chunky but still smooth, I wanted this for the centre of my lids to layer on top of different eyesahdows, the SA told me that it was more like a topcoat which I immediately agreed on.

The gold (shade 208) is a wet eyeshadow, apparently it’s one of their best sellers particularly for darker skin tones as it can be used a highlighter. I have read on many blogs that it’s a very close dupe for Mac’s coveted ‘Whisper of gilt’ extra dimension skin finish so I had to have it.

Both shades are beautiful and I can’t wait to wear them!

I asked the SA what other bestsellers they had and she said that the fixing spray did really well which was consequently exactly what I needed. I’m going out this Saturday night so it will be exciting to see if it lives up to the claims. I tried it instore and it was a little like spraying hair spray on your face which was a bit weird, but we shall see!

I definitely would like to try more from the brand, do you have any favourites?

Mermaid Hair!

by Courtney October 30, 2013
written by Courtney

I dyed my hair last night thinking I wanted a change, and a change it is. I now have deep red hair and am officially a redhead. Red has always been a colour I have steered away from and generally disliked, but all of a sudden I love and and feel like it’s my colour. I feel like it matches my skin tone and features and really brings out my eyes, why the crap didn’t I try this shade before? My mum said my hair was an aubergine colour and that’s exactly right.

I did a DIY box job myself at home and used the shade ‘deep red’ by Garnier Nutrisse, see my twit-pic HERE to see the box. It was a mousse hair dye that delivered completely even results, I applied the whole thing to my hair combing through each section and left to develop for 30mins. My hair previously was a dark brown with a faded blonde ombre. With some hair dyes, I get lighter results on the roots of my hair due to its natural colour and darker towards the tips, but that thankfully didn’t happen. I got 100% coverage and even colour!

In the shade my hair looks almost black, a quite dark reddish brown but as soon as the light hits it the vividness and red tones shines through, it’s not too dramatic which I love as I don’t feel like I could have pulled it off comfortably.

I love how the red contrasts with my hazel eyes and makes them ‘pop’ so to speak, I feel like rich plum, coffee browns and golds will look amazing with this new hair colour. I actually can’t wait to try some new looks! I’m actually a little obsessed with deep red right now… uh oh!

‘Winterberry’ by Aveda

by Courtney October 25, 2013
written by Courtney

I am indeed loving the bolder lipsticks this season and this new addition from Aveda has got me quite excited. Aveda has always been known for its hair but apparently they are quite good at make up too. Well, this limited edition ‘Heart Land’ collection anyway.

The lip product in question is ‘Winterberry’ which is actually a lip glaze with doe foot applicator similar to a lip gloss but extremely pigmented and more like a lipstick. It’s a dark pink toned plum/burgundy with a subtle hint of a duochrome pearlescent finish, it’s not glossy or sticky, just smooth and hydrating. It’s quite long wearing considering the finish and fades really nicely too. There’s also an eyeliner called ‘Night Lily’ which is a dark purple toned plum with finely milled sparkles, this isn’t as pigmented and as long lasting as I hoped, but you can’t win them all.
In love with the packaging!

The lip glaze has fresh minty scent with only a very slight tingle when applied on the lips. It’s such a gorgeous shade perfect for Autumn/Winter.

And applied…

On my face I’m wearing: Bobbi Brown bb cream, Benefit ‘fake up’ concealer, Estee Lauder ‘Bronze Goddess’ bronzer, strobe liquid. ‘Winterberry’ lips, ‘Night Lily’ eyeliner and mascara.
It’s definitely a brightening lip colour and one that makes your teeth look even whiter thanks to the subtle cool tones. You can apply a sheer layer and build it up, or apply heavy handed and intensify as desired. A colour that is suited for all skin tones and races. Thank you. I’m in love, need I say more?

Are you loving ‘Winterberry’ and bolder lips this season?

FOTD & Hair update…

by Courtney May 14, 2013
written by Courtney

I dyed the roots of my hair again yesterday and my hair feels so fresh, it probably also has to do with the fact that I got a haircut too at the actual hairdressers and didn’t trim it myself! 🙂
I used Boots ‘Botanicals’ bitter chocolate brown and I really like that it’s a cool shade and doesn’t pull any red through, definitely one to keep repurchasing.

Loving the layers, the shortest layer at the front comes halfway down to my chin when pulled straight. I went to my trusty Turkish hairdresser and he always does the best cut!

To get this soft layered look, I blowdried my hair and rolled up and pinned the sections as I was going along, I usually use velcro rollers too but had no time for that! The result was a soft and ‘not too in your face’ look.

I have been using L’oreal’s ‘Ever Riche’ No Sulphates shampoo & conditioner for a few weeks now for very dry rebellious hair, and I LOVE it, it’s been so gentle and cleansing on my hair and I love the condition that it’s in. Usually, with ombre I would have opted for a purple shampoo as not to turn my hair colour brassy, but I haven’t felt the need. I also like the fact that the shampoo froths up unlike other non sulphate shampoos. The conditioner is also great, detangles yet doesn’t leave a layer of wax.

Although looking at this picture, perhaps I do need a purple conditioning treatment of some sort, maybe I will just use more of Lush’s ‘Marilyn’ or get a toner from Sally’s.

On my face I am wearing:
Garnier BB cream ‘light’Mac studio finish concealer ‘NC30’Soleil tan de channelSleek Luminous pressed powder ’02’No7 ‘Stay precice’ felt tip eyelinerNo7 ‘Extravagent Volume’ MascaraMac ‘Cork’ e/s in the creaseMac ‘Plink’ lipstick
My makeup is always pretty simple and just enough as to not make me look tired! *pass me the coffee*

I need to do an update on my clean eating and weight loss *I will*, I now have more followers on that Instagram account than this actual blog! Thank you all so much for your continued support. I feel so much better within myself hence this ‘face of the day’. I stopped taking pictures of myself for a while as I just didn’t feel confident which in essence lead to the lack of updates on this blog…. Back in action baby and expect more outfit posts too! Woooo! 🙂
